Design District is part of Miami’s greater Downtown and is made up primarily of older low rise warehouses and gallery spaces. They all turned into new galleries and upscale shops with art and fashion. Luxurious shopping started moving into Design District around 2009 and in 2015, there is over 50 retailers and designer stores.
Whole place is not meant to be just another shopping mall, there is enough space everywhere and you will not be trapped by one glass building. Retail stores are spaced out between galleries and showrooms. And if you get hungry, you can eat in one of the many restaurants here.
